They say reflexology is a very effective form of therapy used for around 5000 years. Pressure is applied to various reflex points found on your foot that correspond to points on your body, helping your body to relax and re-balance itself. You can contact them here. They also offer a variety of other therapies including massage. There is also a reflexology practice in Ulverston: www.ulverston-natural-health-centre.co.uk/reflexology.html You will also find a wide variety of other therapies and holistic treatments here - there really is something for everyone! You can join Hilary in the stunning Lake District scenery to explore the Alexander Technique and Walking on her "Residential Alexander Technique and Walking Course" in the Lake District.Hilary writes: "We will look at our skeleton through anatomy and movement discovering a more accurate map of ourselves. In addition we will look at the principles of the Alexander Technique in a practical, fun and experiential way helping you improve your posture, de-stress, ease back ache as well as moving with less effort and tension. The course will run in the lovely spacious Conference Centre as well as in the garden, weather permitting." Get all the details here. Shadow WorkI don't believe that there are yet any therapists with an interest in working with the shadow in the Lake District, but it would certainly be a great place to hold a shadow healing retreat if anybody's interested! As far as I know at the moment, the focal point of shadow work and emotional process work is down in the south and south-west of England. However, as the pandemic has shown us all, anything is possible on Zoom, and you need not be limited by geographical restrictions any more. The following practitioners work on Zoom as well as face to face. Check their websites for more details: Rod Boothroyd and Ali Kirk. If you're interested in doing deep emotional work, then it's well worth trying shadow work, because it seems to work much faster than conventional psychotherapy or counselling. Other practitioners of shadow work include Dan Hartley and Fran Cabeza West who also offers shadow work by zoom. The essence of it is to examine the nature of your shadow, and then to use either individual coaching, or group work, to delve into a regression of the past, to find out the origin of your issues and troubles in the present-day. You can also train as a shadow work facilitator, practitioner and coach here. Life CoachingNeil Croom is a life coach who has achieved a considerable reputation for guiding his clients quickly and effectively to a place of greater insight and self-knowledge. He practises on Zoom and is able to see clients in any location by means of this medium. Psychotherapists in the Lake DistrictLakes Therapy: Dominic Quinn
